Uncommonly Committed to
Your Healthy, Beautiful Legs
Among all the vein doctors along the Emerald Coast, one in particular – Dr. James Jimenez – has the experience you can count on. As a pioneer in minimally invasive procedures, he’s performed thousands of advanced treatments using the latest state-of-the-art equipment, and has earned admiration from his peers and his patients.
Dr. James Jimenez received his medical degree in 1992 from New York Medical College. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Jimenez completed his medical/surgical internship at New Rochelle Medical Center in New Rochelle, New York. He obtained his residency and fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular/Interventional Radiology from L.I.J. Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York. As a resident he scored in the 94th percentile nationally in his Medical Specialty Board Certification. Dr. Jimenez is board certified by The American Board of Medical Specialties and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is additionally certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
After completing his training, he spent time as an attending physician in Atlanta, Georgia in the Emory University Hospital System. He subsequently relocated to the Emerald Coast where he now practices.
Dr. Jimenez is an interventional radiologist and phlebologist who is an expert in treating vein and artery disorders. Interventional radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments performed using imaging guidance. They use their expertise in reading X-rays, ultrasound and other medical images to guide small instruments such as catheters (tubes that measure just a few millimeters in diameter) through blood vessels or other pathways to treat disease percutaneously (through the skin). These procedures are typically easier for the patient because they involve no large incisions, less risk, less pain and shorter recovery times than typical surgical procedures.
Dr. Jimenez is a member of The Society of Interventional Radiology and The American College of Phlebology. He is trained and skilled in all aspects of Phlebology including non-invasive vascular testing, ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy, conventional sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, as well as the laser ablation treatment for the elimination of varicose veins known as EVLT™ (Endovenous Laser Treatment).
Dr. Jimenez has been performing this revolutionary treatment for varicose veins longer than anyone else in the Pensacola area, and is, in fact, the first physician to have performed the procedure in the Florida Panhandle.

“I loved sports medicine and my dream job was to work with the New York Yankees. But I fell in love with interventional radiology because the procedures are cutting-edge, image-based, and you must possess a wide variety of skills to excel at them. Performing minimally invasive treatments has been very appealing to me.
“Though I pioneered the Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT™) procedure for varicose and spider veins in the Florida Panhandle area, I’m still using the most state-of-the-art techniques today. I love seeing immediate results with very happy patients in the overwhelming majority of cases. It’s very gratifying for both me and them.
“I take great pride in my practice and in providing a higher level of service. We tailor a treatment plan for each patient’s individual needs. I’m proud to be the Panhandle’s first and most trusted name in vein care since 2002, offering the highest level of quality and expertise, and providing great results to enable a higher quality of life. Also, I enjoy my clients calling me Dr. J.” – Dr. James Jimenez
