Similarly, our circulatory system flows through our veins and arteries, pumped to and from our beating hearts. Visible bulging veins result from damaged and weakened veins beneath the surface that cause a build-up of pressure and flow. If you were to treat only the superficial unsightly leg veins on the surface, it would be similar to someone trying to dam a river while the pressurized water from the waterfall continues, likely resulting in a suboptimal result. You must eliminate the issues of the underlying source veins leading to the surface for the best result!

Dr. J's journey began at Bucknell University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He subsequently earned his (M.D.) medical degree at New York Medical College. Through hard work and dedication, he graduated in the top 10% of his class, and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society (A.O.A.) his junior year. He went on to complete a diagnostic radiology residency and a vascular/interventional radiology fellowship at the L.I.J. Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which provided him with the knowledge and skills to excel in the minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease.
After graduating, he joined a private practice in Georgia, which included spending time as an attending physician in the Emory University System. Ultimately, he located to Pensacola, Florida with his family, where he has been practicing medicine since 2001. Early in his practice, he became involved in groundbreaking technology in the treatment of veins and pioneered the use of lasers for the management of problematic varicose leg veins via a procedure termed EVLT™. Dr. J was the first to bring this innovative treatment to Pensacola and the surrounding areas and remains the sought-after expert to this day.

A comprehensive individualized treatment plan was then designed and discussed with the patient, ensuring she had realistic expectations and understood each step of her healing journey. This didn’t mean a complete reversal to the legs of a healthy 20-year-old, but it meant treating the problem in a manner which gave her the best chance at the best result, and which ultimately resulted in ulcer healing over several weeks.
